MCL is a Seattle based ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited food testing lab specializing in microbiological and allergen testing. Our goal is to provide fast and accurate test results in a customer friendly, approachable way. Your needs are our priority, and we are happy to help.

RELIABILITY
MCL is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory. ISO which stands for the International Organization for Standardization, is considered to be the single most important standard for testing laboratories. In order to become accredited, MCL had to demonstrate technical competence and the ability to produce precise and accurate test results. We undergo a third party auditing process every year to make sure we are continuing to uphold these standards. This auditing process evaluates many aspects of our lab, including but not limited to:
Technical competency of each lab technician
Selection of suitable methods
Validation of methods
Integrity of data collection, data storage, and data transmission
Maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
Traceability of all calibration reference materials to national standards
Proper storage and handling of all samples
Internal quality control program, including proficiency testing.
Documentation of all technical records establishing an audit trail for all samples
To become an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory, a lab does not need to have all of its testing methods listed on its scope of accreditation. If a test is not listed on a lab's scope of accreditation it is not required to meet any of the above qualifications, and it is not subjected to an auditing process. At MCL we are proud that over 95% of the methods we use are on our scope of accreditation.
GETTING SAMPLES TO US
There are many ways to get samples to us. We provide our own courier service to the greater Seattle and Kent areas several times a week. If your location is not along our pickup route, or if you need to get samples to us faster, you are always welcome to stop by the lab and pay us a visit. We always enjoy seeing our customers! Local courier services also make a great option for same day deliveries. Not local? Not a problem. You can easily ship your samples to us via FedEx, UPS, or USPS.
